WHAT IS YOUR HISTORY OF RUNNING?

Running as a kid up to high school cross country team. Then nothing for approx. 23 odd years. Started running again approx. 2- 3 years ago because of stress and I was quite a big fella with an unhealthy lifestyle.

 

WHAT IS IT ABOUT RUNNING YOU ENJOY?      

For me, its pure simplicity

 

HOW DO YOU BALANCE DAY TO DAY LIFE / FAMILY WITH YOUR RUNNING?   

Hmmmmm, I will let you know when I figure it out.

 

WHAT DOES A USUAL TRAINING WEEK LOOK LIKE?     

Up at around 5.30am, strength/core training. Usually my running is dictated by the event/s I’m training for. I guess on average around 1.5 to 3 hours a day or approx. 80 – 120kms per week

 

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING DO YOU DO?           

Once again, it depends on the event. In general, one or two speed work/interval sessions. A tempo run. A couple of longer runs. An easy/recovery run. And a social run.

 

GOALS FOR FUTURE OF RUNNING?      

Run all over the world

 

PLANNED EVENTS FOR 2017?   

OK…….Cigna Round the Bays ofcourse!  Then the Motatapu Mountain Ultra, the Boston Marathon, the Saint Clair Vineyard Half marathon, and other Various fun runs and charity events. A top secret scouting mission to another part of the world to check out an Ultra race on the Ultra world tour. And quite a few other yet to be confirmed events around NZ.
